The Tale of Tahle
The story of the artist Tahle truly began when she packed her car and moved to Geilo in 2024. Although art has been with her longer than she might have realized herself, the journey to art has been long, both in distance and time.

The Artist
Tahle (b. 1992) was born and raised in Norway, and from an early age, she felt a need to travel. Driven by a strong urge to explore the world, Tahle left Norway to spend a year attending high school in Australia. After completing upper secondary school back in Norway, she ventured abroad again—this time to study in the USA, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts. This marked the beginning of several years living abroad in various locations across the USA and Europe.
As is often the case, it was the distance from her homeland that brought her back to her roots and inspired her to embrace the Norwegian essence. The result is artwork that celebrates National Romanticism in a way that is both humorous and heartfelt.
“When I was 16, all I wanted was to get away from Norway,” Tahle says with a laugh. “But after traveling the world and meeting people from many cultures, I realized how unique our country is. I became proud to be Norwegian.”

The Art
Her talent for drawing was discovered early on. However, it wasn’t until adulthood that she felt the urge to draw so strongly that she realized she needed to draw to feel whole. Art had become a necessity, a part of her identity.
“Art is my greatest passion. I must follow my heart. I must draw.”
In her artwork, Tahle uses humor and a fresh approach to portray Norwegian life. She plays with stereotypical notions of Norwegians and Norwegian culture while celebrating the aspects of Norway she values most.
Her tools are an iPad and a digital pen, allowing her to draw anywhere. If you buy one of her pieces, it might just as easily have been created on top of a mountain as in a train compartment crossing Hardangervidda.

The Story Continues
Tahle is at the very start of her artistic career and has held her first sales exhibition in Geilo. The sales demonstrated that her lines, humor, and themes resonate with a wide range of people.
